Due to the continued expansion of York Pullman, we require additional staff in the following areas
JOB VACANCIES
Full and part time PCV mechanics
Our busy and very varied fleet of buses and coaches and to ensure that our vehicles are maintained in excellent condition, we are looking for fully skilled and semi skilled mechanics to join our engineering team. You will ideally have previous experience of working on buses and/or coaches although other experience with heavy vehicles would also be considered. Because of the varied nature of the work, a flexible approach to working hours would be an advantage.
Our vehicles are maintained in our workshops in Rufforth and Strensall and we use a shift system to ensure that vehicles are always available to work.
Service bus drivers
Our fleet of large single and double deck buses operate across the City of York and operate a mix of local day time, evening and weekend routes on a rota system. Previous experience of driving in York is not essential as route training will be given, but you must have a full valid PCV licence as we are unable to train you to obtain this licence. As a bus driver, you must be good with people and we expect you to be able to take fares and account for the revenue you have taken on a daily basis.
Pay rates - £9.00 per hour
Vehicle Inspector
We are looking for an experienced vehicle inspectorto join our engineering team in maintaining our expanding fleet of buses and coaches to standards above those required by VOSA.
You will be responsible for setting our engineering standards through our routine maintenance inspections, spot checks on driver defect system and checks on the work completed.
This is a hands on rolewith you carrying out the inspections and working alongside our current team. Whilst the principal role is the routine inspections of our 70 vehicle fleet, you may be required to help out with other engineering functions as required including the repair of vehicles if there is no other work.
The hours are to be negotiated, but will be day shift during the week, although we would expect this role to work outside these hours when doing spot checks or as part of the process of maintaining the standards.
You will be fully apprenticed and with significant experience of inspecting and working on a mixed fleet and have been heavily involved in the preparation and testing of buses and coaches to VOSA standards.
