Fully and semi skilled PCV mechanics
We are looking for fully skilled and semi skilled mechanics to join our busy engineering team. You will ideally have previous experience of working on buses and/or coaches although other experience with heavy vehicles would also be considered. A thorough knowledge of VOSA regulations is essential along with the ability to organise your own workload and work to deadlines.
The fully skilled mechanics will have completed an apprenticeship in heavy vehicle maintainence and have been responsible for safety inspections and MOT preparation work. You must also be able to diagnose faults as reported by the drivers, ensuring our fleet of vehicles are fit for the road at all times.
The semi skilled mechanics will have experience of working on large vehicles and work alongside our fully skilled staff, carrying out repairs and other work within the garage.
The engineering team work set hours based on daytime working hours, however, because of the varied nature of the work, a flexible approach to working hours would be an advantage.
Our vehicles are maintained in our workshops in Rufforth and Strensall and we are looking to recruit staff in both locations.
